The Earth has long been associated with the feminine form, celebrated for its qualities of fertility and nurturing—often personified as “Mother Earth,” the goddess of spring, and other symbols of life. Nature, in all its seasons, is vibrant and abundant, teeming with plants, insects, and microorganisms that thrive year-round or appear in rhythmic cycles. Drawing from my own experience as a woman, this work reflects a fusion of my perception of nature’s vitality and the unique blessings of womanhood.
The first piece is made of a floating frame, layered with the series of images printed on the transparent paper and translucent paper. Each paper is movable to interact with the images in front and behind.
The second piece is a video piece projected onto a screen framed in 12” x 14” x 2” picture frame. The series of layered moving and animated images will show the depth, beauty and vitality of life in nature.
The third piece will be a still image of the layered pictures shown in the first and second piece framed. This piece will show the overview of how each layer of graphics are arranged to create the composition.
All three pieces should be posted on the same wall as each piece is small and compact. In addition, in proximity, each piece corresponds and interacts with one another visually.
