As a curator, I developed the proposal, secured a gallery, coordinated with the gallery director, and managed all aspects of the exhibition, from marketing collateral to event logistics. I also organized and designed the gallery space, ensuring each artist’s work was professionally displayed, and coordinated volunteers and musicians for the receptions.

In the realm of fictional literature, an alter ego can be crafted to live out one’s dream life. This character is not only liberated from the mundane problems and struggles of everyday existence but can also possess extraordinary, invincible, and transcendent qualities. Through this alter ego, one can explore limitless possibilities and experience adventures beyond the constraints of reality.
In reality, we cannot depend on an alter ego to escape our circumstances. There is no one and nothing that can bear the weight of our existence for us. Often, we feel too powerless to change the world, society, or even ourselves. We are given certain unchangeable aspects of our lives—our circumstances, health, resources, origins, and roots. However, we must confront our challenges directly and navigate life’s complexities with resilience and determination.
(un)Alter(ed) Ego is a vibrant group art exhibition that features the works of nine contemporary American artists from diverse ages, ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds. These artists present artwork that is raw and unfiltered. Each piece is the product of their profound personal life lessons, self-exploration, and memories. Rather than escaping from the harsh realities of their lives, they embrace their challenges and struggles, highlighting shared elements in their experiences that resonate universally.
Through the shared experiences and emotions conveyed in their work, the exhibition aims to forge meaningful connections with the Baltimore community. By learning valuable lessons from one another, these insights will become cherished treasures for both the Baltimore community and the artists themselves. By embracing our vulnerability, we can inspire each other and create a powerful ripple effect that changes the world.
