This triptych consists of mixed media adhered to the framed canvases. It has been displayed on three different occasions—at Atrium Artspace, Wide Angle Youth Media and Havre Arts Collective.
Implosion
This was the first piece I created in the triptych. I aimed to express the internal turmoil—guilt, regret, self-accusation, and feelings of condemnation. These emotions can be transformed into motivation for personal growth and change. However, if I don’t learn to accept them in a healthy way, they can become dangerous, weighing me down and potentially leading to depression.
Imbibition
Definition: The absorption of one substance by another, particularly the uptake of water by a plant or seed.
I wanted to capture the pivotal moment when my overwhelming feelings of “should have, could have, and would have” transform into a surge of healthy, productive motivations. It’s the tipping point where the weight of regret and sadness is absorbed into a resilient and healthy mind, ready to embrace change and strive for better.
Explosion
I am shattering the chains that once held me down. I am ready to blossom, to embrace growth. I yearn to become stronger and wiser.
